Interschool Chess

The school enters teams in the SA Junior Chess League. Chess is held during terms 2 and 3 and is played after school on Friday afternoons at venues including Prince Alfred College, St Peter’s College Junior School, St Ignatius College Junior School and Glen Osmond Primary School.

Games are played between 4pm and 4.30pm on a fortnightly basis. There are 7 rounds. Players are expected to commit to the full season to honour their commitment to their team. There are NO REFUNDS for players who drop out during the season.

Other outside school hours chess competitions including Rookies Tournaments, Interschool Chess Championships, City of Adelaide Junior Championships and State underage Championships are available to be entered.

ICAS and Australian Mathematics Competitions – Registrations are closed for 2017

Students from Year 3 to Year 7 are able to participate in a range of competitions, providing the opportunity for students to gain a measure of their own achievements in an external assessment situation. All students receive a certificate and an individual results letter indicating which questions they answered correctly, as well as the average mark for their state. Certificates are awarded for each Year Level as follows: High Distinction to the top 1% Distinction to the next 10% Credit to the next 25% Merit or Participation to all remaining entrants

Debating

Year 6 and Year 7 students are able to sign up for debating as part of the South Australian Debating Association (SADA) schools competition in Term 1.  Debates are held on Tuesday nights during Terms 2 & 3 at Pulteney Grammar School and students meet up during lunch times to organise and prepare for their debates.  For more information please click here to visit the SADA website.

Aerobics

Students in years Years 4-7 are able to audition for places within our LPPS Aerobic and Cheer teams in Term 1 to compete in the Australian Schoolaerobics and Cheer competition.

We are very proud of our 2016 achievements. Our four Linden Park teams competed at the National Schoolaerobics and Cheer Competition at the Gold Coast last year. It was a very successful competition, coming away with 3 gold medals and a 5th place.  We are now national champions in Primary Pairs, Primary Open and Small Teams Pom.
