The school enters teams in the SA Junior Chess League. Chess is held during terms 2 and 3 and is played after school on Friday afternoons at venues including Prince Alfred College and St Ignatius College Junior School.
Games are played between 4pm and 5.00pm on a fortnightly basis. There are usually 7 rounds. Players are expected to commit to the full season to honour their commitment to their team. There are NO REFUNDS for players who drop out during the season.

Other outside school hours chess competitions including Rookies Tournaments, Interschool Chess Championships, City of Adelaide Junior Championships and State underage Championships are available to be entered.
Details of these events will be found on Skoolbag or emailed to school players.
Students from Year 5 to Year 7 are able to participate in a range of competitions, providing the opportunity for students to gain a measure of their own achievements in an external assessment situation. All students receive a certificate and details about their individual results. Linden Park offers online ICAS Science, English and Mathematics.

Australian Mathematics Competition
The Australian Mathematics Trust conducts the Australian Mathematics Competition online for students in Years 4 to 7.
